Uploads made easy
Get your music on DONLU in six simple steps. Set up your profile once, join DAMP so your streams pay you, then upload as many songs as you like.
Have these ready
- Your song fileMP3 or WAV. For a music video, the YouTube link
- Square cover artJPG or PNG, at least 1000 x 1000 pixels
- A clear photo of youFor your artist profile
- Your ID and bank detailsFor DAMP payouts. You can add these later
Sign up as an artist
Create your account and choose Artist (or DJ). We send you an email to confirm it.
- Open the email from DONLU and tap the confirm link. Check your spam folder if it is not there.
- Signed up as a listener by mistake? Contact us and we switch your account to artist.
Update your profile
Fans find you by your profile, so DONLU asks for four things before your first upload. The Upload page shows this form for you.
- Photo of you, clear and well lit
- Stage name, the name fans know you by
- Country and genre
- A short bio helps too, but you can skip it
Register for DAMP
DAMP is how DONLU pays artists for every counted stream. It is free. Your streams only start earning from the day you join, so join before your first upload.
- ID number and a photo or PDF of your ID
- Bank details in your own name
- Your music body registration and certificate
You can join now and add your documents later. Withdrawals open once everything is in and your ID is approved: from N$1,000 on Artist Free, or N$500 on Artist Pro.
Choose what you are uploading and add your files
Open Upload. The first screen is called Files.
- Pick the type: Single (one song), Album / EP (more than one song), Music Video (a YouTube or Vimeo link) or DJ Mix (one long file).
- Cover art: tap the picture box and choose your square artwork.
- Title: the song name only. Leave out "feat." and the artist names, you add those on the next screen.
- Song file: tap upload and choose your MP3 or WAV. WAV files are bigger, so they take longer on mobile data. A green bar shows the upload. Wait until it reaches 100% and shows a tick.
- Album or EP: add a title and a file for each song, in the order fans should hear them. Tap add track for the next one.
Then tap Next: Details.
Add the details
The second screen tells fans who made the song. Only genre is needed, the rest helps fans and credits everyone properly.
- Genre: pick the closest one.
- Release date: leave it as today to release now. Pick a future date to schedule a drop with a countdown page.
- AI usage: say if you used AI tools. Fully AI-generated songs can stream but do not earn DAMP payouts.
- Featured artists: everyone featured, separated by commas. Your own name is added for you.
- Producers, composers and lyricists: who made the beat, the music and the words.
- Copyright: for example © 2026 and your name or label.
- DJ Mix: paste your tracklist, one song per line.
Then tap Next to check your release.
Check it and release
The last screen, Confirm, shows your release the way fans will see it.
- Check the cover, title, featured artists and genre. Tap Edit details to fix anything.
- Tap Release now. If you picked a future date the button says Schedule release.
- A progress screen shows Sending, then Saving, then Live. It takes you to your song when it is done.
- If a box is still empty, DONLU takes you back to it and marks it in red.
Keep the page open and your phone unlocked until it says your song is live. Do not tap Release now twice.
If something gets stuck
I tap Release now and nothing happens
A box on an earlier screen is still empty. DONLU takes you back to it and marks it in red. Fill it in, then tap Release now again.
It keeps loading
Big files take longer on mobile data. Keep the page open for a few minutes. If it says the connection dropped, check your songs in DAMP Studio before you try again, so you do not upload it twice.
It says my account is not activated
Open the confirm email from DONLU and tap the link. Signing in with the right password also sends you a fresh link.
Can I upload from my phone?
Yes. In the DONLU app go to Studio, then Upload. The steps are the same as on the website.
Why are my plays not earning?
Plays earn once you are in DAMP, and only from the day you joined. Your own plays never count, and one listener counts up to five times per song per day.
Your song is live. Now get it heard.
Share your song link on WhatsApp, Instagram and TikTok. Every fan who signs up through your link and every artist you bring in can lift what you earn with Fan Boost and Crew Boost. Follow your plays in DAMP Studio.
